How Much Does House Cleaning Cost in Houston?

Houston house cleaning is usually priced per visit, not per hour on the invoice you see. What you pay depends on home size, how deep the clean is, how often you book, and whether you are hiring one person or a company that carries insurance and a background check.

This page explains those levers, then shows Next Day Living’s Houston prices. We do not publish competitor rates here — those change, and a screenshot from last year is how people get misled.

How cleaners usually charge

• Flat per visit. You see a number before you pay. Size and plan are baked in. This is how Next Day Living prices.
• Hourly. Common with independent cleaners. The total moves with how long they stay. Fine if you trust the clock; hard to compare quotes.
• Per room or per square foot. Useful for large homes. Watch whether stairs, extras, and bathrooms are included.

Ask what is in the number: supplies, inside the oven, windows, the fridge. “$120” means nothing without that list.

Home size

Square footage is the blunt instrument. A 1,200 sq ft bungalow and a 3,800 sq ft two-story are different jobs even if both are “3/2.” More floor, more bathrooms, more time. Next Day Living includes a square-foot cap in each plan and adds a set amount per extra 500 sq ft — you see that total before you pay.

Cleaning type

Names vary. The work does not:

• Regular / maintenance. Dust, floors, kitchens, bathrooms. Surfaces, not a remodel.
• Deep / detailing. Baseboards, sills, extra kitchen attention. Still not a construction clean.
• Move-out / move-in. Empty cabinets, appliances, the corners you skipped for two years.

If a home has not been cleaned in a long time, say so. Heavy buildup is a different job than a two-week interval.

Frequency

Weekly and biweekly visits stay cheaper per trip than a once-a-year panic clean because the dirt does not cement. Recurring discounts are common in the industry. Next Day Living prices the visit you book today; if you want a weekly or biweekly cadence, tell us when we confirm.

Add-ons that change the price

Typical extras, whether you hire us or someone else:

• Inside the oven or fridge
• Interior windows (ladders and time)
• Blinds
• Unloading a packed kitchen so cabinets can be wiped
• Pets that shed heavily (more vacuum time, not a surcharge on our form)

Independent cleaner vs a cleaning company

An independent cleaner you found on a neighborhood app can be excellent and cheaper on paper. You are also the one checking references, covering no-shows, and deciding what happens if a vase breaks. A company quote is paying for dispatch, a background check before assignment, insurance on the visit, and someone to call if the clean is off.

What is specific to Houston

Houston is spread out. Drive time between a morning in The Heights and an afternoon in Katy is real, even if you never see it on the invoice. Humidity and pollen also mean bathrooms and window sills load up faster than in a dry climate — that shows up as “the house got dirty again,” not as a line item.
